EARL MARVEL STADIUM
FAST FACTS

EARL MARVEL STADIUM
Project Brief
An EARL café located within the new Stadium Square, part of the Marvel Stadium redevelopment, needed a warm, inviting interior with a seating area, grab-and-go section, and feature coffee counter. The layout accommodates two entry points: one for game days and one for daily use. The design blends EARL brand finishes with new elements, all within the existing tenancy space, without altering entry points.
The site is 48.5 sq.m with an uneven shape, a large central column, and two entrances: one to the Stadium (used on game days) and one from Stadium Square. Efficient planning was crucial for optimal customer flow, balancing counter placement and grab-and-go accessibility.
The layout ensures smooth customer flow, regardless of entry point. The counter is placed just right of centre, opposite the Stadium Square entry, with the coffee machine visible. POS units are on the left, behind the ambient display, aligning with customer movement. The grab-and-go section is on the left for easy access. A soft seating area in the curved window provides a cosy space for relaxation.
The finishes palette incorporates EARL’s green, complemented by new materials like a concrete trowelled finish and terracotta-style tiles, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
No demolition was needed, minimising landfill. Finishes were chosen for durability and longevity, ensuring minimal carbon footprint. Laminex’s sustainable L1 laminate was specified, and counter joinery was designed as modules for future repurposing.
