The Pop Up Cafe & Bar is a 66.5 sqM area that Auckland airport wanted Emirates Leisure Retail to provide a cafe/bar for 9 months whilst they completed upgrades to the terminal. The project had a limited budget, and design from concept to full documentation had to be completed within 4 weeks. We completed the full design as well as worked with a graphic designer to develop the brand name and identity which assisted in creating a presence in the final interior design.

To design according to budget, we sourced local companies that could gather the necessary equipment and furniture. The key timber material used was Hoop Pine ply, chosen due to cost, but also because its natural edging provided a feature. Colourful vinyl strips were placed on the counter front to add colour and a modern touch, and powder coated pressed metal sheeting was used to clad the rear wall to imitate cafe subway tiles.
